Mercury, according to astrological and hermetic traditions, stands for communication and cleverness. Therefore, it is related to the throat chakra. The fire element is known for communication, among other things, and is therefore related as well.

A low delta wave is used for deep relaxation and a 5cps theta wave is used for visualization. These brainwaves combined help promote communication when tuned to the throat chakra.

The music key of this meditation is C#, but it's drone tone is tuned slightly off to focalize the Mercury planet. The Earth Year tone is also a C#, but differs by several hertz. Interestingly, the Earth Year is related to the heart chakra, which is right next to the throat chakra.
